NEW: Potraz, ITU initiate local digital innovation profiling

Online Reporter

The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on Thursday initiated local digital innovation profiling.

Local digital profiling is expected to assist in bridging the digital divide and foster innovation in the country.

Assessing a country’s digital innovation profile involves identifying a country’s strengths and weaknesses, and developing a roadmap for digital transformation.

It helps policymakers to benchmark their performance against other countries, and identify best practices for driving digital innovation.

Said Potraz acting director-general Mr Alfred Marisa:

“The profiling will help us establish a solid foundation for digital growth and development by providing the much-needed policy and regulatory guidance in the digital innovation ecosystem.”
