NEW: Power outages expected for parts of Harare

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) has announced that parts of Harare will experience power outages on Wednesday, as the power utility carries out some critical maintenance work.

The planned power supply interruption will run between 6am and 6pm.

In a statement on Tuesday morning, the utility said Msasa industrial area and some parts of Greendale will be the most affected areas, warning residents to treat all circuits as live during this period as power may be restored without notice.

“The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company would like to advise its valued customers in Harare Region that there would be a power supply interruption on Wednesday 20 October 2021 from 0600hrs to 1800hrs for the purpose of carrying out critical maintenance work,” reads the statement.
