GOVERNMENT has implored its ministries, departments and agencies in Mashonaland West province to direct efforts towards obtaining tangible results and transforming communities.
Addressing the first quarter provincial heads meeting, Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo said the heads should not prioritise statistics, but the transformation of people’s lives.
“In alignment with this vision, our focus must transcend the mere reporting of tasks and activities,” said Minister Chombo.
“Instead, we must prioritise tangible results, measurable outcomes, and lasting impacts. Let us shift our narrative to highlight the transformative effects of our interventions on the development of our province.
“Achieving these results demands relentless hard work and an unyielding stance against corruption.”
The provincial leadership, she said, should be guided by integrity and diligence to achieve sustainable economic growth for the province and nation at large.
The meeting reflected on the progress and achievements registered in the first quarter.
Minister Chombo said the implementation of the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) projects and programmes hinged on the ability of provinces and districts to deliver.
She implored the provincial leadership to refine its approach by clearly outlining targets to enable tracking progress and accountability.
The minister hailed the Second Republic for dismantling the barriers of silo mentality within Government and its departments by introducing the whole-of-Government approach.
