THERE was respite for Manica Diamonds while GreenFuel suffered more misery in the weekend’s Castle Lager Premiership matches as the two teams posted contrasting results.
The diamond miners clobbered ZPC Kariba 3-0 in their own background last Friday, while the ethanol producers fell 2-3 at home to Ngezi Platinum Stars.
The results leave the Gem Boys in 10th position and GreenFuel rooted at the foot of the 16-team table.
Manica Dimaonds have won two games, winning and drawing as much.
On the other hand, the Chisumbanje-based outfit is winless in six starts to their debut campaign in the top-flight league. The faltering take-off prompted them to ring changes in their technical department. Technical director Lloyd “Samaita” Mutasa and head coach Bekithemba Ndlovu were relived of their duties to make way for seasoned gaffer Rodwell Dhlakama.
Manica Diamonds will be hoping to continue climbing up the league log standings, while GreenFuel are keen to turn their stuttering season around.
