NEW: Robbers on the prowl

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is investigating two cases of robbery in which two complainants lost a combined US$36 000 cash. 

In a statement on Friday morning, police said in one of the cases five suspects pounced on their victim in Chisipite before stealing US$21 000 and five cellphones. 

“Police in Harare are investigating circumstances surrounding a case of robbery which occurred on September 9, 2021 in Chisipite,” reads the statement in part. 

“Five suspects robbed the complainant (38) US$21 000 cash and five cell phones.” 

In another case, police are appealing for information which may assist with the investigations of a robbery case that occurred on September 19, 2021 at Pagomo along ED Mnangagwa Road. 

“Three suspects attacked the complainant (42) at his homestead and stole US$15 680 cash, Land Rover Discovery 4 vehicle, 55-inch television, cell phones and laptop, among other valuables. The stolen vehicle and television were recovered dumped in Chisipite.”
