FORMER Warriors player, Edward Sadomba, is on cloud nine after his son, El Shaddai, scored a hat trick as Zimbabwe Under-17 walloped Eswatini 5-0 in a COSAFA Cup Group B game in Johannesburg, South Africa on Thursday.
A report on the COSAFA website described Zimbabwe as “technically proficient.” in that game.
Tadiwa Chakuchichi and Valentine Macheka, who won the Man of the Match award, scored the other goals.
“Firstly, I give glory to God and I feel so great that my son is doing well,” said Sadomba, a former Dynamos star.
Sadomba was a lethal striker at DeMbare and was the top scorer when the Harare giants reached the CAF Champions League semi-final in 2008.
Sadomba also played in Sudan and Libya.
El Shaddai is now following in his father’s footsteps.
He won the Golden Boot at last year’s CAF Schools Under-15 tournament held in Harare after scoring six goals for Zimbabwe.
“It is not about El Shaddai alone, credit also goes to his teammates and his coaches as well, they are helping him a lot,” said Sadomba.
The COSAFA championships are being used as qualifiers for the CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
Zimbabwe are in the same group with rivals Zambia, who thrashed Namibia 8-0 on Thursday.
