NEW: Sakubva accident claims 1

A MUTARE man died on the spot after he was hit by a car while trying to cross the road near Quest Motors in Sakubva on Saturday evening.

 

Manicaland Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Nobert Muzondo confirmed the fatal accident, saying MacDonald Shoko (38) of Hobhouse died from injuries sustained in the accident.

 

Police attended the scene and ferried Khumbula’s body to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital mortuary.

 

“On Saturday evening around 7pm,  MacDonald Shoko (38) of Hobhouse was crossing the Mutare-Chimanimani Road to Quest Motors bus stop from Chigomba shops when a Toyota Hilux which was being driven by Edwin Khumbula (20) towards Sakubva hit him. He sustained injuries and died on the spot,” said Inspetor Muzondo.

 

Inspector Muzondo urged motorists and pedestrians to exercise caution at all times while using the road.
