Local boxing stable Delta Force Academy believe their new prospect Farai Makombe could reach the heights scaled by current WBC interim super bantamweight champion Kudakwashe Chiwandire.

Delta Force Academy have five boxers in their stable – Tinashe “Chairman” Madziwane, Ndodana Sibanda, Revai Madondo, Farai Makombe and Kudakwashe Chiwandire.
Makombe, who hails from Gwanda, is touted to be the next national super middleweight champion.
“Watch out for this guy,” said Delta Force Academy manager Clyde Musonda.
“We got him from Gwanda and we are moulding him into a world champion. He is the next Carnelo (Saul Alvarez).”
The stable also announced its partnership with RM Plumbing and MMA Academy in Harare on Thursday.

RM Plumbing World are now the anchor sponsor.
“This partnership is a significant milestone, not only in the advancement and development of the academy, but of the boxing sector as a whole,” Musonda said.
“Our long-term dream is for the complete development of our athletes to achieve world-class contender statuses, and also become world-class citizens in and outside the ring.”

Chiwandire will fight for the WBC Super bantamweight world title against Yamileth Mercado of Mexico in Chihuahua on March 18.
RM Plumbing World pledged more support for the 27-year-old pugilist.
