The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPA) on Wednesday received information and communication technology (ICT) equipment from the Ministry of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services.
The equipment, which included 20 laptops and a printer, is expected to help in implementing the Integrated Electronic Case Management System.
ICT, Postal and Courier Services Minister Tatenda Mavetera said: “The infusion of technology is a huge step towards a full digital economy as envisioned by his Excellency President Mnangagwa.
“Indeed, it’s a milestone because it ensures justice for all.”
Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi said such support would help to improve case management by the NPA.
“It is our hope the continued support by Government and other players in the justice sector, particularly the Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, will be instrumental in the improvement of the NPA case management and management with other stakeholders.”
NPA Prosecutor-General Justice Loyce Matanda-Moyo said when she assumed office, she discovered the need for more ICT tools.
“I am grateful to the ICT, Postal and Courier Services Ministry for this swift response,” she said.
