WOMEN International Boxing Association (WIBA) intercontinental welterweight champion Monalisa Sibanda successfully defended her title in Victoria Falls on Wednesday.

Sibanda, who has held the title for over three years, won against Small Valente Aciro of Uganda via a unanimous decision.

In an interview with The Sunday Mail Online, she said she was excited she won, although the fight was not an easy one.

“I want to thank God for this opportunity and I know that at the end, God wins the battle. It was a battle that was not easy for me to defend my title,” she said.

“I just want to thank all those who supported me, because they made it possible for me to win back my title.”
