NEW: SRC appoints new director-general

THE Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) have appointed Eltah Nengomasha as the new director-general.

She has been elevated from her previous role of marketing and corporate communications officer.

She starts her new duties on April 1, 2023.

“The board of commissioners of the Sports and Recreation Commission advises that following the approval of its recommendations by the Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation, Kirsty Coventry, and with the consent of His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa, it has, in terms of Section 24 of the Sports and Recreation Act, appointed Eltah Nengomasha as the director-general of the SRC,” read a statement released by the SRC on Friday.

Nengomasha holds a Master’s degree in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing Management from IMM South Africa, among other qualifications.

“Her experience and qualifications are in line with the stated desire of the SRC in ensuring the full commercialisation of the sports sector in Zimbabwe,” said SRC.
