DRAMA continues at Kadoma Agricultural Show Society (KASS) where fraud-accused chairman, Mr Partson Madera, is allegedly disregarding his suspension.

His suspension was confirmed by the KASS executive committee and the National Association of Show Societies chairman, Mr Godfrey Mavankeni.

However, Mr Madera has apparently axed and replaced all of the executive committee’s eight members, accusing them of undermining his authority and skipping meetings.

The new committee is constituted by Eddlight Dekwe, James Sakala, Christopher Chinenhamo, Naison Gwasha, Tinashe Dzinoreva, Shepherd Katsatsu and Theresa Zinto.

The 2019-elected committee which Madera axed, comprised of Crispen Dirao, Talent Garikayi, Luckson Munyai, Hardday Mandava, Akim Mhene, Theresa Chingale, Locadia Dube and Gift Ndlovu.

A letter dated April 8, 2022 by Mr Madera to Mr Mavankeni reads in part:

“Please, kindly be informed that Kadoma Agricultural Show Society operates under KASS constitution. In our KASS constitution, there is no clause that states about suspension, neither does it give power to the executive committee or anyone else to pass a vote of no confidence except for the Life members and Ordinary members in a General Meeting (Sect: 10:3).”

The letter further said: “The issues at Kadoma Show are before the courts and the Ministry of Lands has assigned auditors to audit our system. Since the issues are in the hands of the courts, let’s wait for them to decide. We will give you the ruling of the courts and the auditors reports.”
