The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has informed its customers and taxpayers it has introduced two new tax returns to TaRMS for immediate access through its self-service portal.

In a statement, ZIMRA said the levy on specified minerals returns was due by the 5th of the month following the end of the calendar month, and supports the new tax type that was introduced with effect from January 1 this year.

“Taxpayers are advised to first create the tax type in SSP, and the effective date of registration can be any date from January 1 2024,” said ZIMRA.

According to the statement, the second new tax return has been effective from January 1, 2024 and can be submitted for any period 10 years prior or subsequent from January 1, 2024.

“The tax type does not create any pending returns until an e-agreement is created by the taxpayer whenever there is a special capital gain due, which appears under Pending Returns for submission.

“There is no need for the taxpayer to first create the tax type account in TaRMS as the tax type account is automatically created for all taxpayers registered in TaRMS.”
