State-owned enterprise TelOne on Tuesday launched an aggregated insurance platform, INSURE-Me, which is essentially a virtual insurance marketplace that seeks to make it easy for the public to pay for all their insurance needs.

The latest innovation was established in partnership with software company Afrosoft and 11 insurance partners.

Speaking during the launch in Harare, TelOne managing director Mrs Chipo Mutasa said the latest innovation is anticipated to position the internet service provider as the country’s largest insurance virtual marketplace.

She said the development is going to give customers the option to access various insurance products under one virtual roof, and also help the company to diversify its value-added services portfolio.

“This new offering is anticipated to bring convenience to customers through offering various insurance products from a single aggregated digital touch point in the comfort of customer homes,” Mrs Mutasa said.

The platform already has on board eight short-term insurers and three life and funeral players.

The short-term insurers are Old Mutual Insurance, Zimnat Lion Insurance, Nicoz Diamond, Champions Insurance, Sanctuary Insurance, Credsure, FBC Insurance and AFC Insurance.

Life and funeral players on the platform include Fidelity Life Assurance, Old Mutual Life Assurance and Zimnat Life Assurance.

TelOne is a licensed authorised distributor for multiple agents of insurance-based products around the country under a distributorship arrangement with various insurance companies, which include vehicle insurance, Zinara (Zimbabwe National Road Administration) licensing, health insurance, agriculture/crop insurance, goods in transit, property insurance, funeral assurance and life assurance.
