THE Josiah Magama Tongogara Foundation has pledged to help pay school fees for bright students whose parents cannot afford to send them for A-Level and tertiary education.

This follows a recent visit to Tongogara Refugee Camp in Chipinge South by the late liberation war icon and national hero, Cde Josiah Magama Tongogara’s widow, Mrs Angeline Tongogara.

Daughter to the late liberation war stalwart, Ms Nyaradzo Tongogara said it was humbling to see how Government is offering the best possible care for the people of concern.

However, following representations from the leaders of the refugee community, she said the foundation will try to assist bright students with scholarships.

“I am speechless as to how the people here have showed determination to make a difference in their lives through projects.

“However, I noted that there are bright students who are unable to continue with their education because of financial difficulties. It is with this in mind that I propose that the Josiah Magama Tongogara Foundation comes in and make a difference to these children,” she said.

Ms Tongogara made these remarks as she concluded her tour of the Tongogara Refugee Camp along her mother and nephew, Magama Tongogara, a grandson to the late national hero who is his namesake.

Nyaradzo is the late national hero’s last born.

Her mother received the news of her husband’s demise when she was carrying Nyaradzo.
