POLICE have arrested three suspects for a series of burglaries that occurred in Harare’s Granary and Riddle Ridge suburbs.

Tatenda Marodza, Itai Tembo and Richard Jena face 17 counts of unlawful entry.

In a statement, police said from March to May 2022, the accused persons caused sleepless nights to Granary and Riddle Ridge residents as “they would forcibly open locked doors and get away with household goods”.

“In one of the cases that occurred in May 2022, the three, acting in connivance with their accomplices Collen Muvirimi and Witness Chidhuza proceeded to the complainant’s house where upon arrival they forced open the sliding dining-room door to gain entry.

“They stole a 4-plate gas stove, 19,5kg gas tank, 210-litre deep freezer refrigerator, 32-inch Samsung TV, 5kg gas tank 12 volts car battery and went away unnoticed.”

The trio were arrested following a tip-off.

They appeared at Mbare Magistrates Court on July 29 and were remanded in custody.
