NEW: Trio arrested for pangolin possession

Police have arrested three Harare men, who were found in possession of a pangolin valued at around US$3 000.

In a statement on Wednesday, national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest.

“ZRP confirms the arrest of Daniel Kwaramba (30), Ocean Donono (46) and Jeremiah Manyande (28) for being found in possession of a pangolin at Total Service Station along Julius Nyerere Way, Harare.

“The three were busted by police while searching for a potential buyer for the pangolin, which was being sold for US$3 000,” he said.
