NEW: Two die in Zimunya accident

TWO people died, while nine others were injured after a Toyota Noah they were travelling in veered off the road and landed on its left side near Muradzikwa Turn-off in Zimunya yesterday.

Faith Mukamba (22) of Chikanga and Steward Duma (15) died on the spot, while the injured passengers were ferried to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital.

Deputy Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the accident.

“The accident happened at around 3pm near Muradzikwa Turn-off. The driver, John Mafu lost control of the vehicle, a Toyota Noah at the 17km peg along Mutare-Chimanimani Road. It veered off the road and rolled twice before landing on its left side. Mukamba and Duma died on the spot, while nine passengers sustained injuries,” said Assistant Inspector Chinyoka.
