NEW: Two die of snake bites

A 54-YEAR-OLD woman and a 16-year-old juvenile were bitten by snakes in two separate incidents that happened last week on Saturday.

In the first incident that happened in Chitewere Village in Chief Makoni’s area, Esther Marividza was bitten by an unidentified brown snake on the right angle while she had gone to her garden for weeding.

 

She rushed home and informed her brother-in-law, Joseph Masima about the snake bite.

 

He took her to Rusape General Hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

In another incident that happened in Kunyarimwe Village in Chief Saunyama’s area in Nyanga, Faith Miriam Teta (16) died after she was bitten by a snake when she was fetching firewood.

 

Faith went outside to collect some firewood within the yard.

 

The snake, which disappeared into the woods, bit her on the right leg shin.

She told her mother-in-law, Norris Kubeta, who took her to Regina Coeli hospital where she died upon admission.
