The duo – Shadreck Chibvongodze (26) and Charlington Timba (37) from Overspill in Epworth – were facing charges of armed robbery and possessing stolen property.

Prosecutor Mr Shepherd Makonde said on November 28, 2021, at Machipisa Shopping Centre in Highfield, Harare, Chibvongodze and Timba, acting in connivance with two others who are still at large, hatched a plan to rob the complainant’s motor vehicle, a silver Chevrolet Avro.

The accused persons searched the complainant and took his three cell phones and cash amounting to US$135.

They later dumped him along Amalinda Road in Glen View and drove off at high speed.

On June 14, 2022, at number 849, Zinyengere, Epworth, Chibvongodze and Timba were found in possession of spare vehicle parts of the stolen Chevrolet Avro.

The total value of stolen goods was US$6 000.
