NEWLY appointed Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Misheck Mugadza, has expressed commitment to work with provincial heads of department in Government to drive the National Development Strategy (NDS1) agenda and achieve Vision 2030 goals.

Speaking during a meeting with provincial heads of Government ministries, departments and agencies at Mutare Polytechnic yesterday, Minister Mugadza said the vision of attaining an upper middle income society by 2030 can turn into reality in Manicaland through promoting provincial devolution and development.

He called for unity of purpose and hard work.

“We should promote team work to attain this vision. There should be unity among all players because team work is critical. We need to complement each other as we work towards achieving our vision. There is also need to work hard for our country and not vice-versa to serve foreign interests. We need to defend our heritage.

“I wish to reiterate that my office has an open-door policy and we will build this province and nation brick by brick while leaving no one and no place behind,” he said.

Minister Mugadza commended the provincial heads for their zeal, energy and courage to achieve the objectives of NDS1 and Vision 2030.

Secretary for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Mr Edgars Seenza described Minister Mugadza as proactive.

“He has a remarkable background as a senior lawyer and many other achievements. His Excellency President Mnangagwa saw his potential and appointed him as the Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution,” he said.
