VICE President Kembo Mohadi has urged the nation to take advantage of the 44th SADC Heads of State and Government Summit to market the country as an investment destination.

VP Mohadi made the call while handing over 450 vehicles to the Zimbabwe Republic Police at Mkushi Training Depot in Harare today.

“In a few days to come, Zimbabwe shall be hosting the 44th SADC Heads of State and Government Summit,” he said. “Whilst we are aware that mischief makers are plotting all sorts of mischief, this is an opportunity for the country to market itself as an investment destination of choice.

“As a country, we must harness the goodwill that is resident in our region and leverage on opportunities extended to us through the SADC Industrialisation Strategy.

“However, it is sad to note that while we are building Zimbabwe for posterity, there are some elements who are itching to disrupt such progress.

“I reiterate His Excellency, President Dr ED Mnangagwa’s clarion call “Zimbabwe inyika yevatema, inonamatigwa, nekuvakwa, pamwe nekutongwa nevene vayo”. We shall therefore continue to build it brick by brick, stone upon stone, vachida vasingadi.”

VP Mohadi warned those bent on disturbing peace to desist from doing so as this will not be tolerated.

“Those that want to cause mayhem in this country will never be tolerated. I thus call upon the citizenry to abide by the laws of the land and shun disorder in any form,” he said.

“As the police, I exhort you to remain watchful and maintain the peace and security that we are currently enjoying. Having said that, I am equally mindful that policing, especially in modern times, requires an array of resources beyond vehicles.”
