NEW: Warriors skipper Musona unveiled by Al-Tai FC

ZIMBABWE captain and former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona has been unveiled by Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Tai FC.

Musona (31) joined the newly promoted Saudi Professional League side from Belgian giants Anderlecht at the end of June.

He arrived in the Middle East on Thursday to complete the switch.

The talismanic Warriors forward captain was met by officials from the club who used the opportunity to unveil the striker to sections of the media.

Musona arrives in the country on the back of a seven-season spell in Belgium, where he managed 39 goals and 19 assists in 123 Jupiler Pro League appearances for Anderlecht, KV Oostende and KAS Eupen.

The 2010/11 South African Premier Soccer League Golden Boot winner was previously linked with a return to South Africa, where Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns were reportedly interested in his services.

Musona’s arrival in Saudi Arabia should be welcome news for the Warriors camp, as their dependable skipper is unlikely to be worried about game time by the time Zimbabwe open their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign in September.

They play South Africa and Ethiopia in the same month.

The Aces Youth Academy alumni joined Amakhosi at a young age and made a huge impact, earning the moniker ‘Silent Assassin’ after scoring 44 goals in 74 matches over two spells at Chiefs. – Sports Reporter/kickoff.com
