YOUNG Women for Economic Development (ED) will host finals of the national cooking competition next month in Bulawayo.
The cookout programme, which was initiated by First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa, is aimed at preserving Zimbabwe’s tradition, culture and promoting healthy living. Speaking during the Midlands Province cookout competition on Thursday, Young Women for ED chairperson Tatenda Mavetera commended the cookout programme.
“Young women converged in Kwekwe at Mbizo Centre yesterday where we had hundreds of young women come through and get involved in the cookout competition, which Amai initiated.
“As young women, we feel it is quite important for us to be taught by our mothers what they did better so that we can also do better,” she said.
“The grand prize for Young Women for ED cooking with Amai is the setting up of a restaurant for the winner so that this person can also become innovative and entrepreneurial, not just take this knowledge to themselves.”
