Youths should come up with home-grown solutions that support the country’s economic development, Government has said.
Speaking during the official opening of the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Africa and Middle East Conference in Victoria Falls on Thursday, Deputy Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Tino Machakaire said: “We are upbeat that following this event, the youths will be equipped with knowledge that will enable them to address international issues and show their commitment to becoming socially responsible leaders.
“The conference will further allow us to innovate home-grown solutions on how to improve, share and create positive change across our communities.”
JCI Zimbabwe president Mr Samuel Nehumba said the conference presents an opportunity to champion the development of young leaders.
“It is important for us to be agile and resilient in the face of a very dynamic environment and that we ensure sustainability for future generations to come,” he said.
