New Zanu-PF MP sworn in

THE Zanu-PF Manicaland proportional representation member Cde Kereniya Uta was sworn in as a legislator on Tuesday to replace Cde Anastancia Kavhu Nyau who died in April this year.

Speaker of the National Assembly Advocate Jacob Mudenda announced that Zanu-PF had nominated Cde Uta in terms of t he Constitution.

Adv Mudenda directed Clerk of Parliament Mr Kennedy Chokuda to administer the Oath of Office.

Mr Chokuda then asked Cde Uta to take the oath of loyalty in terms of the law.

Cde Uta was next on the Zanu-PF party list of the women’s quota submitted to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission for Manicaland province after Cde Nyau.

The assumption of duty by Cde Uta comes barely two months after Cde Shadreck Chipanga was sworn-in when he entered the House through proportional representation in Manicaland, replacing Cde Kumbirai Kangai who died in August 2013.
