The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) says it will disconnect customers in arrears as it moves to recover the more than $5,6 billion it is owed.

In a statement on Thursday, the power utility urged customers to pay their debts to avoid being disconnected.

“ZETDC would like to advise its valued customers in Harare region that the power utility is currently implementing credit control measures on defaulting customers.

“Customers are therefore advised to settle their bills to avoid being disconnected,” reads the statement.
