NEW: ZIFA hunt for Mighty Warriors coach

ZIMBABWE Football Association has begun the hunt for a substantive head coach for the Zimbabwe senior women’s national team.

According to an advert by the local football governing body, the coach should be qualified, dynamic and experienced.

“The appointed individual will play a pivotal role in building a cohesive and competitive team, fostering a winning mentality and driving player development,” said ZIFA in the advert.

Candidates are expected to submit their applications by July 17.

Shadreck Mlauzi was the last coach for the Mighty Warriors on an interim basis when he led the team to last year’s edition of the COSAFA Tournament.

He went on to hog the limelight after being accused of indecent assault against a female member of staff during the tournament.

He was acquitted at the Harare Magistrates Court after the magistrate said she could not trust the complainant’s evidence.

Mrs Ethel Chichera said the complainant was not a credible witness as she made inconsistent statements during and before the trial.
