ZIMBABWE will host the third International Conference of African Cultures (ICAC) later this month, at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Harare.
The conference is scheduled to run from November 23 to 25.
According to National Gallery of Zimbabwe executive director, Mr Raphael Chikukwa, the conference will be held under the theme: ‘Africa Speaks: Confronting Restitution and Repatriation of Artefacts, Human Remains, Objects and Archives from an African Perspective’.
Said director of Arts in the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Arts and Recreation, Dr Biggie Samwanda:
“The idea of discussing matters of culture or the culture in creative sector issues, is part and parcel of what we have in the National Development Strategy 1. Government is serious about matters to do with promoting culture, and sees it as an indispensable vehicle for development.”
The conference will be in hybrid format.
