NEW: Zim satellite starts transmitting data on agriculture

ZIMBABWE’s first satellite – ZimSat-1 – has begun  relaying useful  information on agriculture through the Zimbabwe National Geospatial and Space Agency (ZINGSA), Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development Minister Dr Anxious Masuka has said.

He said this in his key note address on World Cotton Day in Harare on Thursday.

“Zimbabwe’s first satellite, ZimSat-1, has begun to send useful agricultural information through the Zimbabwe National Geospatial and Space Agency (ZINGSA).

“We hope the cotton sector can use this platform to gather real-time progress in planting, crop monitoring as well as area and yield assessment,” he said.
