MOBILE internet and data usage in the country increased by 16,8 percent in the second quarter to June 2022, latest figures from the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) show.
According to the telecommunications industry regulator, a total of 25 756 terabytes (TB) of mobile internet and data were consumed in the second quarter of 2022, up from 22 052TB in the first quarter.
Over the same period, incoming International Internet Bandwidth Capacity Used increased by 0,9 percent to 221 181 megabits per second (mbps) from 219 232 mbps recorded in the first quarter of 2022.
Used Outgoing International Internet Bandwidth Capacity also increased by 4,6 percent to 91 978 mbps, from 87 924 recorded in the first quarter.
“The growth in used outgoing international Internet bandwidth signifies growth in the consumption of local content abroad,” said Potraz director-general Dr Gift Machengete.
