THE Zimbabwe Under-20 rugby team are through to Sunday’s Bathes Trophy final, where they will meet the winner between Namibia and Kenya.

The defending champions won convincingly, putting as many as 10 tries past their North African opponents.

The tries came from replacements Shadreck Mandaza and Tanaka Chinyanga.

Alex Nyamunda, fullback Simbarashe Kanyangarara, Edward Sigauke and Muzuva Gutu chipped in with a brace each.

Had it not been for the woeful kicking of Brendan Marume, who had a bad day in the office, the scoreline could have been bigger.

The Junior Sables vice-captain and flyhalf missed a penalty and five conversions.

Of the ten on offer, Marume chipped in with two conversions, while Chinyanga made three more.

However, credit belongs to Zimbabwe’s forwards, who put on quite the shift to close out Tunisia and ensure that the team goes into the final without conceding a single try.

Tunisia got their points through a penalty and drop goal by their flyhalf Ahmed Riahi.
