ANTI-POACHING operations in protected areas of the Middle Zambezi Valley Landscape received a boost following the handover of ranger field equipment worth over US$30 000 by the African Wildlife Foundation.

Poaching remains a thorn in the flesh for the authorities in the Middle Zambezi Valley Landscape, which is home to a number of national parks, including Mana Pools.

The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks) has over the years partnered a number of organisations in its fight against poachers.

Last week, ZimParks received an assortment of equipment at Chinhoyi Caves in Mashonaland West.

The consignment included stretcher beds, overalls, military boots, berets, tents, raincoats, backpacks, mosquito nets and sleeping bags.
