Minister Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training Tino Machakaire has appointed a new board for the Zimbabwe Youth Council.
Rutendo Mugwagwa (32), a lawyer from Manicaland, has been appointed as the chairperson of the board.
Other board members include Hazel Mandaza (20) from Mashonaland East, Unathi Nyoni (21) from Bulawayo, Macintosh Manonose (27) from Midlands, Victor Mupunga (30) from Harare, Acknowledge Mawere (24) from Masvingo, Blessing Ndlovu (30) from Matebeleland South, Thubelihle Nyoni (27) from Matebeleland North, Talent Kadaira (28) from Mashonaland Central, Munyaradzi Chauruka (29) from Mashonaland East, Thabani Shonhai (22) from Harare, Yolanda Mungwari (33) from Manicaland and Tinashe Ngirande (22) from Midlands.
Minister Machakaire said the remaining two members shall be females, with one of them coming from Mashonaland West Province.
He said the announcement will be made in due course.
“In terms of Section 3B of the Zimbabwe Youth Council Act (Chapter 25:19) and cognisant of the provisions of the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No 20) Act 2013 and the Public Entities Corporate Governance Act (Chapter 10:31), I hereby announce the thirteen of the fifteen members that will constitute the board of directors,” Minister Machakaire said.
“This board will enhance our efforts in promoting youth participation, economic empowerment and leadership development across the nation.”
