NEW: Zimra boss appointment suspended

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) board has suspended the appointment of Dr Moris Mpofu as the authority’s acting Commissioner General, following the retirement of Mr Rameck Masaire.

Mr Masaire now continues in the role of acting Commissioner General.

In a statement on Friday, Zimra vice chairperson, Mrs Josephine Matambo, announced the suspension.

“The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority board wishes to inform stakeholders that the assumption of duty of Dr Moris B. Mpofu as the acting Commissioner General of the Authority has been suspended,” reads part of the statement.

“Accordingly, Mr Rameck Masaire will continue to serve as acting Commissioner of the Authority.”
