PUBLIC transporter ZUPCO has reviewed its fares for local routes.
In a notice released yesterday, ZUPCO said the new fares take effect today.
The fare for buses has gone up to $80 from $50, while that of omnibuses is now $100 up from $80 for a distance of 0-20km.
For a distance between 21 to 30km, buses are now charging $100 up from $80 and the fare for omnibuses is now $120 up from $100.
Passengers will now pay $120 up from $100 for buses covering a distance of 31-40km.
