HIGHLANDERS carried on with their pre-season preparations when they won two practice matches they played against Beitbridge Select at Dulivhadzimu Stadium yesterday.
New signing, Cleopas “Gaucho” Kapupurika scored in the first match to give Bosso a 1-0 triumph over Beitbridge Select in the first match of the day. Ben Musaka missed a penalty in that opening encounter, which Highlanders had earned after Kapupurika had been brought down in the box. The former Dynamos winger made sure that the penalty miss did not count for much when he scored shortly afterwards.
Ariel Sibanda, Bukhosi Ncube, Charlton Siamalonga, Vincent Moyo, Andrew Mbeba, Musaka, Denzel Khumalo, Munyaradzi Chitambwe, Mbekezeli Sibanda, Kapupurika and Russell Chifura started in the first match.
In the second match Bosso won 2-1. Mbongeni Ndlovu handled in the box to concede a penalty which gave Beitbridge Select the lead. Ndlovu went on to make amends when he headed in a Brian Banda corner. Prince Dube beat defenders inside the box, was brought down, dusted himself up to slot in the penalty.
Wellington Muuya, MacClive Phiri, Mbongeni Ndlovu, Tendai Ndlovu, Peter Muduhwa, Nqobizitha Masuku, Brian Banda, Divine Mhindiriri, Prince Dube, Ray Lunga, Godfrey Makaruse started the second practice match.
