MUSIC has been a medium used to convey messages to the society and also helps point out on the evils or injustices around us. The content of music must carry a vital message to the masses which has to influence them in a positive way.

A young artiste Trust Tshuma (Teezt T) has been able to trap into the music industry and is dropping new music with the legendary icon Maskiri on the issue of domestic violence which is still one of the major wrong in the society.

Born in Bulawayo in the streets of Makokoba, Tshuma (24) has always loved music since birth as it was one of the instruments that created a sense of belonging and inspiration. He discovered his talent when he was in primary school after he joined the choir.

“I met other artistes like Chipman, Bleezy T, King Taliban and Nashie during stage performances. We then formed our group called Taliban Crew and dropped a hit single called Summertime which did very well in the streets which became an indication I was meant to do this.”

The song is called Bopoto. It talks about the disadvantages of fighting during a relationship. It does not promote domestic violence and encourages couples to love each other.

“Maskiri was impressed when he found me recording the track at Wisdom Records and requested that we work on the track together,” he said.

Tshuma mentioned that he learnt a lot from working with Maskiri. Some of these aspects were his work ethic and his humbleness.
