Ngezi Platinum Stars coach, Takesure Chiragwi, believes his charges have to be at their best if they are to compete for the title.
With most teams in the Premier League having stepped up in their recruitment exercise, the 2023 champion believes the 2025 season will be a test of character for coaches and teams. “The 2025 season is promising to be a competitive one.
“Most teams, if not all, beefed up their squads to make sure they can compete to the best of their ability, and it makes the league so exciting and competitive.
“It is not going to be an easy season for any team,” said Chiragwi. The 2023 league champions were held to a one-all draw in their opening fixture of the season by Premiership new boys Kwekwe United.
With the club hosting their first home fixture tomorrow as they face GreenFuel, Chiragwi and his charges will seek to make a statement of intent on their ambitions for the season.
“Looking at our game on Saturday, there is nothing more to expect than to be at our best.
“Our target this season is to make sure we finish the league in a respectable position on the log, and we also believe that we are no longer push overs in the league.
“We need to compete and protect our reputation and brand as a club and try to grow the brand year in and year out,” said Chiragwi.
Despite losing a number of senior players during the pre-season, Chiragwi remains optimistic about the arsenal he has at hand.
