NGEZI Platinum stars captain, Polite Moyo, says a change of mindset has helped them to start winning games again in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
After a poor start to their title defence, in which they scrambled five points from their first five games, Takesure Chiragwi’s men appear to have found their rhythm.
They have gone on a four-match winning streak.
On Saturday, Ngezi Platinum will visit Herentals, who have always been tricky opponents for them, at Rufaro.
“We are picking up momentum and we plan to keep it that way.
“We are drawing inspiration from last season.
“We plan on extending our winning run.
The goal is to win every game,” said Moyo.
In their last four outings, Ngezi have scored nine times and conceded only once.
Moyo said their change of fortunes was due to a change of mindset.
“We have been playing well, so I can not say we have changed our play.
“We changed our mindset. We started thinking like winners and playing like winners.
“We are aware of our targets, we are positive, and we know that with hard work, our goals are achievable.”
The champions are fourth on the log with 24 points.
Moyo is positive the Mhondoro side will successfully defend the league title.
“Our target is to defend the title successfully. The league is a marathon. It’s not about how you start but mostly how you finish.
“We are very much still in the right direction. At the moment, the league is still open to more than eight teams.
“We want to win the league and we are doing our best to make sure that our results prove that.”
