A NYANGA-based non-governmental organisation has proposed to establish a vocational training centre at Nyatate Business Centre. Improved Rural Area Programme (IRAP) has since written a project proposal to International Labour Organisation (ILO) for their possible consideration, while doors remain open to those who wish to partner them in the establishment of the training centre.

IRAP hopes that working with the local traditional leaders, relevant Government ministries and other stakeholders, the NRVTC will go a long way in equipping unemployed youths with life and survival skills. The proposed NRVTC will cater for students from surrounding high schools among them Mapako, Nyatate, Nyajezi, St Mary’s, Nyanga High and St Monica.

“Our aim is to establish a vocational training centre at Nyatate to equip youths with life and survival skills.
“We have since sent a project proposal to ILO and we are hoping to get a positive response from them. We also welcome any other partners in our endeavour to provide an answer to high unemployment in Nyanga District,” said Mr Upenyu Muteyo.
