Beitbridge East Member of Parliament, who is also the Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister, Albert Nguluvhe, has extended support to all Grade Seven candidates in his constituency ahead of the 2026 ZIMSEC examinations.
In a statement on Friday, Minister Nguluvhe said his office has provided examination materials to 2,077 candidates across Beitbridge East.
He said each learner will receive a pencil, a ruler and a ballpoint pen. The initiative, which the Minister undertakes annually for all examination candidates in Beitbridge East, is aimed at ensuring that every child is adequately prepared for the crucial examinations which commence on Monday next week.
“The support is meant to ease the burden on parents and guardians and to ensure that no child fails to sit for examinations due to lack of basic stationery,” he said.
“All the stationery has been handed over to the District Inspector of Schools (DIS) for onward distribution to school heads.”
He also announced a scholarship package for top performers, mainly the 10 best-performing pupils from vulnerable backgrounds in the district, based on the 2026 Grade Seven results.
He said these will be awarded full boarding scholarships from Form 1 to Form 4. Minister Nguluvhe said the scholarship is part of his continued commitment to promote access to quality education and to motivate learners to excel.
He also paid tribute to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, school heads, teachers and parents for their dedication to children’s education.
