Nhema urges youths to enrol for skills training

Sunday Mail Reporter
Academically challenged youths should enrol at vocational training centres (VTCs) in their respective areas to acquire life-transforming entrepreneurial skills, Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Minister Francis Nhema has said. Speaking at a Zanu-PF National Youth League executive induction workshop in Harare yesterday, Minister Nhema said equipping youths with vocational training skills was critical to economic development.

“I am encouraging our young people to develop skills through our education system. To those who are academically challenged, we have established at least one VTC in each district to improve skills at the lowest level possible.

“You are the vanguard and future leaders of our country. So, it is important to take advantage of Government initiatives to develop skills.”
Meanwhile, Zanu-PF deputy secretary for youth affairs and Makoni West legislator Cde Kudzai Chipanga said Zimbabwean youths are ready for professional challenges and development.

“We are appealing to our leaders to appoint some of our skilled young people to boards of key national institutions. We are willing to learn and contribute towards economic development,” he said.
