Nhowe mission refutes claims

“Following the incident at Nhowe Mission on March 2, 2013 involving one of the students and subsequent reports in the electronic and some sections of the print media, the Nhowe Mission board of governors, the Church of Christ through its structures, Nhowe Mission Hospital, and the school development committee carried out independent investigations on the alleged satanism and injury of the student,” said Mr Goromonzi.

“The investigations by these key stakeholders have been finalised and the Nhowe Mission board of governors is privileged to inform the public that the initial reports in the electronic and print media were unfounded and had lots of misrepresentations.”
He said that the reported injury was exaggerated and the concerned parent brought Nhowe Mission into disrepute.

“The board would like to assure all stakeholders, particularly the school parents and the public at large, that the reports and statements made by the parent concerned were unfounded and that the situation at the school is normal and under control,” he said.
Mr Goromonzi said that Nhowe Mission was founded on strong Christian values and still upheld these values.

“There is no satanism at the mission. We would like to recognise the concerted efforts made by the parents, the police, Public Service
Commission and the ministry of Education, Sport, Arts and Culture, towards establishing true facts of the matter and the situation at the mission,” said Mr Goromonzi.
The mission school recently captured headlines when female pupils were reportedly having strange visions and hearing mysterious voices.

The fears heightened on March 4 when one of the pupils allegedly woke up soaked in blood, with a deep cut on her chin. Further reports were that another pupil woke up with her clothes mysteriously soaked in blood but with no wound on her.
