her stay in Zimbabwe.
The American singer took time off to visit several children’s homes in and around Harare earlier this week.
The visit is part of her mission to empower less privileged children by encouraging them to believe in Jesus Christ.
Some of the homes she visited include Jabulani Children’s Home in Marlborough and Hope Foundation in Westgate where she spent her day mixing and mingling with the children.
Nicole said what she saw in Zimbabwe at the children’s homes inspired her to come back in future and plough something to improve their living standards.
She also took the opportunity of the visits to impart her music and dance skills to the children.
“We didn’t come here to teach but to learn. There are a lot of things that I would like to take back home with me and also encourage the people back home to support Zimbabwe.
“We were able to see the schools, the homes and the churches and the children were just lovely.
“I realised that there are a lot of children who need help. But I was excited to see that the children were happy,” she said.
Nicole together with her family later visited the Victoria Falls and said this was inspired by the idea not only to celebrate one of the natural wonders of the world that God created, but also to market Zimbabwe to the outside world as a safe and beautiful tourism destination.
Pastor Herman Chimusoro, who was part of the team that brought the musician to Zimbabwe, said it augured well for the country if foreigners like Nicole came and gave their support to their Zimbabwean counterparts.
“We feel happy if our foreign brothers and sisters come here and pledge their assistance.
“This is part of the whole process of building bridges and an exchange of cultures,” Pastor Chimusoro said.
The diva impressed with her sold-out shows held at the Celebration Centre in Borrowdale at the weekend.
This was her second trip to Zimbabwe and she enjoyed the hospitality and warmth of the country and its people.
