A HARARE woman successfully applied for a protection order against her niece who is rude and disrespectful.
Ever Parira said she wanted her niece, Violet Mawira, evicted from her place of residence.
“I am the one who raised her and now she comes to stay at my place.
“She claims we don’t love her and only love her children. I no longer want her at my place of residence until she has manners,” said Ever.
In response, Violet opposed the application.
“I love my aunt, but she is always in a bad mood. She claims I am lazy, but it’s not true. The problem starts when the children are involved.
“She does not want me to take my children. If I discipline my children when they do something wrong, she starts crying,” said Violet.
She said her aunt does not want her to assign the kids domestic chores.
“She says I am lazy when I task the children to do anything. She doesn’t want me to tell my kids to clean dishes when they finish eating. I do not know how she wants the children to learn good manners,” she said.
Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted the protection order in favour of Ever.
However, Ever was ordered to let Violet take her children when she wants.
