A NIGERIAN illegal immigrant who was fined $200 for illegally entering Zimbabwe faces deportation.
Mike Chinwede, 37, of Queens Park in Bulawayo, was last Thursday convicted by Bulawayo magistrate Sibongile Msipa on charges of unlawfully entering Zimbabwe.

The magistrate imposed a fine and ordered him deported under immigration laws.

Chinwede is believed to have entered Zimbabwe between September and November this year, according to prosecutor Charles Danda.

The court heard that on November 12 shortly after 11AM, immigration officials received a tip-off that Chinwede was in the country illegally. They confronted him at Continental Spares Shop situated between 13th Avenue and Fife Street. He was asked to produce his passport but failed to do so.
