BULAWAYO Chiefs coach, Lizwe Sweswe, believes his men would be unplayable in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League once they are done connecting the loose ends.
The Ninjas got their season underway with a 1-1 stalemate against one of championship favourites, Ngezi Platinum Stars, at Luveve Stadium on Saturday.
Nkosilathi Ncube scored the opener for the hosts in the 58th minute, but the visitors restored parity from a brilliantly struck free-kick by skipper, Qadr Amini, in the 80th minute. It was not bad result for Sweswe, who had to assemble this team in a space of three weeks.
And, prior to this match, they had suffered a 0-2 loss last week to FC Platinum in the Castle Challenge Cup at Mandava Stadium.
“I was impressed by how the boys handled our opponents.
“Things are slowly falling into place and I’m confident that we will be cruising just after two or three games.
“It was really encouraging to get something against such a strong side. They are a good team and seeing the boys going toe-to-toe with Ngezi instilled confidence into everyone associated with the club,” said Sweswe.
He singled out Obriel Chirinda for praise, insisting that he is expecting the striker to play a leading role in their bid for a turnaround.
