FORMER Hwange and FC Platinum striker Simon Njeleza is back at Zifa Southern Region Division One outfit FC Talen Vision, where he has taken up the position of team manager.
Njeleza, a former Talen Vision player, joins the ambitious club alongside ex-How Mine goalkeeper Nonjabulo Dube, who has assumed the role of goalkeepers’ coach.
“We have some new faces in our technical team following the arrival of our head coach, Kudzayi Mhandire, late last year. Mhandire will be assisted by Loverty Mabunda and Patrick Takavarasha as first and second assistant coaches, respectively.
“Nonjabulo Notice Dube has joined us from Zimbabwe Saints as our goalkeepers’ coach. We have reunited with Simon Njeleza, who is now our team manager, while Gatsi Mukombwe and Langton Mahungu are the fitness trainer and doctor, respectively. The kit manager will be Kelvin Mhute,” said FC Talen Vision chairman Elton Sinyosi.
FC Talen Vision will compete for the region’s top honours against strong contenders such as Bulawayo Chiefs, Zimbabwe Saints, Adachi, Nkayi United, and Plumtree-based Mainline, among other clubs.
Bulawayo Chiefs, who were relegated last year, have been active in the transfer market, bringing back some of their top players from previous seasons.
Leading the charge are the trio of Kelvin Madzongwe, Malvin Mkolo, and Arthur Musiyiwa. Madzongwe joins Chiefs from ZIFA Southern Region Division One side Zebra Revolution, while Mkolo and Musiyiwa arrive from Simba Bhora and Dynamos, respectively, where they both struggled for regular game time.
Also returning to Chiefs is goalkeeper Matripples Muleya, who arrives from TelOne.
The duo of defender Polite Mwenda and Gabriel Dlodlo have also joined the club from other teams.
Veteran coach Maxwell Takaendesa Jongwe was appointed head coach of Chiefs a few weeks ago, with Bekithemba “Super” Ndlovu as his assistant.
Meanwhile, former Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Zimbabwe Saints have brought in experienced Philani “Beefy” Ncube as their new head coach.
Last season, Ncube was with Arenel Movers, who were eventually relegated from the country’s elite football league. — @FungaiMuderere
