A 15-year-old Njube High School learner whose singing performance at the school assembly went viral, has released her debut song, and she is hoping to build on the attention she received online.

Lindokuhle Dlamini caught the attention of thousands after a video of her singing at the school’s assembly, was shared on The Chronicle’s Facebook page.

The video attracted hundreds of reactions and messages of encouragement, with Gospel musicians and music lovers praising her vocal prowess.

Inspired by the responses, Lindokuhle has now released a song titled “Ngqondo,” which explores the conflict between the heart and the mind, particularly in romantic relationships.

She said the song was inspired by the tendency to let emotions influence important decisions.

“My song is about the battle between the mind and the heart. Many people, when they are in a relationship, love with their hearts and do not allow their minds to take place as well,” she said.

Lindokuhle said her viral school performance gave her the confidence to pursue music further.

The young singer had previously spoken about her dream of one day sharing the stage with gospel group The Unveiled.

However, for now, she is focused on getting her new single to be heard and connect with music lovers.
